How the Swap Works

The Skeena Swap is a well established consignment sale that features thousands of new and lightly used winter gear items sold by individuals and sporting goods stores.  Two non-profit community organizations (the consignee) provide the venue, advertising and volunteers required to manage the event.  The owner of the gear (the consignor) is charged a nominal handling fee for each registered item to help cover overhead expenses.

The consignor establishes the sale price for each item and retains ownership until the item is sold.  The consignee retains a sales commission on each item sold to help offset the operational costs of delivering volunteer first aid & rescue services and the professional development of youth ski and snowboard athletes.  Unsold items and the net proceeds from consignment sales are made available to the consignor at the conclusion of the event (Saturday 4:00 pm).

Over the course of three hours at the 2017 Skeena Swap, over 1,000 customers will shop for deals amongst over $250,000 in merchandise!

Experienced Swap shoppers know that the best deals are available early on Saturday and during the last 30 minutes when prices on items marked with Red Tags are reduced by 25%.

Gear Registration

The Skeena Swap offers exceptional value to customers by assembling a large collection of low priced new and lightly used winter gear.

Winter gear such as skis, snowboards, boots, snowshoes, nordic gear, skates, clothing and accessories are welcome to be registered at the swap.

We try to serve the public and retailers best by not accepting out-of-date or unsafe equipment.  Examples of out-of-date or unsafe equipment include old straight skis, rear-entry adult ski boots, used helmets and mismatched poles.
